Description
The Department of Arabic Language is a core academic unit within the Faculty of Education in Mizdah. Students are enrolled in the department under an annual study system designed to meet the academic and professional requirements of Arabic language education.
Vision
The Department of Arabic Language seeks to advance Arabic linguistic and literary knowledge within a pedagogical and cultural framework that serves Libyan society.
The department aspires to graduate a generation that is proud of its Arab and Islamic identity, capable of meeting the challenges of the modern era, and highly proficient in the use of Arabic across reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Graduates are expected to be well qualified to serve their community in line with the objectives of the University, the Faculty, and the Department.
Mission
The Arabic Language Program aims to prepare qualified graduates with comprehensive knowledge of the linguistic sciences and their specializations, including grammar, morphology, rhetoric, and principles of writing. It seeks to develop graduates who are proficient in Arabic pronunciation and writing, possess refined literary appreciation in both poetry and prose, and demonstrate critical abilities to distinguish quality in literary works, alongside strong research and creative skills.
The program also strives to supply society with professionally competent graduates who can contribute effectively to community development and respond to its educational and developmental needs.
Goals
- To provide students with sound linguistic knowledge and train them in correct grammatical usage, accurate pronunciation, and the development of literary appreciation and creativity.
- To develop analytical skills and the ability to appreciate literary works, fostering creative expression.
- To equip students with scientific research skills in the various branches of language studies, using appropriate and rigorous research methodologies.
- To prepare academically qualified cadres for teaching in educational institutions in accordance with modern pedagogical foundations.
- To promote Islamic values and ethics and to cultivate a strong sense of social responsibility among students.
- To enhance students’ capacities for academic communication and their contribution to research on diverse linguistic issues.
- To familiarize students with modern and advanced teaching methods in the field of Arabic language education.
- To graduate students who are capable of pursuing postgraduate studies.
